This gorgeous bungalow in the Perth & Kinross countryside had already been extended over the years, but after recently purchasing the property, my clients quickly realised that the existing layout wasn’t quite working for modern family life.The brief? Extend, improve and make the most of this beautiful setting – while making the new addition feel like it has always belonged. The extension has been carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the existing bungalow, using a similar scale, form and material palette rather than looking like an obvious new addition. Inside, we’re creating a new open-plan kitchen and dining space, carefully positioned to capture views across the rolling countryside. Daylight has been a big part of the design, with a double-height space and rooflight helping to bring light deep into the new extension and create a real sense of volume.
