A Seamless Extension

A simple, cost-effective extension designed to Permitted Development Rights (no planning permission required). Designed to feel like it’s always been part of the home.

2024 / Perth & Kinross / Complete

The clients wanted to extend their kitchen to the rear of their house to form an open plan kitchen/dining space. The clients were worried that extending would make the existing kitchen feel darker, however with the new mono-pitch roof, skylights, dual-aspect windows, and reused French doors, sunlight now floods both the kitchen and the new dining area. The open-plan layout connects seamlessly to the garden, giving them a space to eat with family and entertain friends. The extension was designed to meet Permitted Development Rights, restricting its size and height, so that a planning application was not required. The project was completed very efficiently and the building warrant was granted within 3 weeks of submission, allowing construction to start promptly and meet the clients’ timescales. The clients are thrilled with the result, which has transformed how they use their home.

Client testimonial: “We couldn’t be happier with the service Samantha provided for our house extension. She was approachable, friendly, and made the whole process feel simple from start to finish. She always took the time to explain things clearly, so we felt confident and understood each stage. Samantha kept everything on track with our budget and timescales, and we’re so pleased with the end result – it has completely changed the way we live. We would highly recommend Samantha to anyone considering a home project.”
